Is anyone knowledgeable about bike rentals in Estes? The airlines are wanting an "arm and a leg" for carrying bikes these days and you don't know what shape it will arrive in(the bike that is). It would be great to be able to rent a very nice road bike while out there.

The Estes Park Mountain Shop rents bikes http://estesparkmountainshop.com/rentals.htm They've redone their web site and now have their rental rates listed for camping gear, trekking poles, bear cannisters, etc. as well.

It looks like Colorado Bicycling Adventures has a good selection of rentals. Another option is University Bicycles in Boulder, if you have a way to carry the bikes up to Estes. There is lots of good road riding between Boulder and Estes, let me know if you need ride suggestions.

Thanks for the info. Good to know what the options are. There seems to be enough for any situation wether I do some serious riding or just want to knock around some.I've been to University Bike shop in Boulder,it's an awesome store. Part bike shop, part museum and with the best clothing selection I've ever seen. Enjoyed the photos on RKYMTHIKER's site. Great pict.s on the Trailridge Road ride. I did the Sunrise Stampede last June in Longmont, seems like a great place to live. Thanks to all for the replies!
