Hi folks,

Great BBS you've got going on here. I hate to be one of those posters that asks the same first question, but I'm going to do it anyway! I've got a couple spare days in Boulder and would love to spend the bulk of them trudging through some fluffy white stuff. Now I'm no stranger to trudging, fluffy white stuff, or altitude...but I am a stranger to RMNP. Would y'all be so kind as to suggest a couple of your favorite day hikes?

Thanks in advance :)

First of all, welcome to the forums Stone welcome.gif

I've not been snowshoeing out there yet, but I'll be out there late January for my first snowshoeing trip. I'd guess that it would be a nice trek from Bear Lake to Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake. The Loch or Mills Lake would probably be some others to look into. There are some locals on the forums who could give you some solid suggestions. But I'd give it a few days or more due to the holidays.

Don't sweat it. We love to see new members jump right in and post.

Welcome Stone! shakehands.gif

I snowshoed one day out there in Feb 2003. I did Bear Lake to Dream Lake, then back down to Glacier gorge and on to Mills Lake. It was snowing like crazy and I couldn't see much, but it was a great experience nonetheless. I too will be out with Aaron and some others in late January. When are you going to be out there? If it's the last weekend in January feel free to join us.

I'm going to be out there 1/12 - 1/16, but only able to head out for fun 1/14 - 1/16. Thanks for the offer, I'd take you up on it if the scheduled allowed. Right now I'm leaning towards the same route. That may change depending on weather conditions and overzealousness.

Out of curiousity how are the roads that lead up to that trailhead area?

Thanks again :)
