Miss Lucy, if it makes you feel any better, I think I saw Amazon chick puking her guts out on top.

Hey Mongo, she's sounding hotter all the time, isn't she?

I love the way that you write, Miss Lucy! Thanks for sharing your trip report! I remember reading about your trepidation about Long's Peak before you left, and I'm so glad that you had a beautiful, memorable experience. Way to go!

Way to go Miss Lucy - sounds like you had a wonderful time. We were hoping to climb Longs Peak last Tuesday. We were doing an easy hike on Ouzel Falls & hubby twisted his ankle! He sprained it really bad Memorial Weekend loading up his motorcycle. I don't think it was strong enough yet & maybe it was a sign he wasn't ready for Longs! We were going to do that Tuesday! Oh well, he rested a couple days and we did Estes Cone & Lily Mountain. Don't worry Longs - we will be back in 2 years and try to tackle you again!!

Great trip report, Miss Lucy. I remember reading your post about how fearful you were of Longs. Kudos for giving it a shot and getting as far as you did. That in and of itself is a huge accomplishment. It's not always whether or not you get to where your going, rather the journey itself. It sounds like your journey was most excellent. I can't wait to see some of your pictures to go along with your solo hike. (Actually pics of the whole hike and hiking party in general.)

(I'm amazed at the restraint you showed by not pushing the Amazon Climbing Chick off the side of the mountain!)

Miss Lucy took a quick look

Now, wha'd I tell ya? I'd insert one of those devil looking away smilies if I knew how to work that...
Yeah, it's hard not to take a look with all that beauty that is laid out in front of you in one short second. The normal gust of wind in the face helps a bit too.
Ya done good though making a day of it and Chasm View is a great place to view the climbers on the Diamond.
I hope you have a great time in The Gorge,

Lucy,
What a great report. Someday I hope we get to meet. I like your perspective on mountain climbing. I am glad you didn't get summit fever and miss out on such a great day.

Miss Lucy. . .please put me FIRST on the list of people who will buy several copies of any book you may write in the future!!! If you haven't thought about it. . .please do! You are amazing! That was the most entertaining, enjoyable read I have had in a VERY long time! Never mind that I'm packing my office up for home now because I refused to stop reading while my boss hovered over me anxious for my attention (just kidding. . .I still have a job. . . unfortunately rolleyes.gif )

And a hike "only" to the keyhole is nothing to apologize for or feel like anything less than a TOTAL success!

Great report Miss Lucy. I love reading your reports, you have a fantastic writing style.
I'm glad your day turned out to be a good one.
You should have stuck your foot out and gave amazon woman a little trip.
