Hey, I just finished the Podcast myself. Great stuff, I'm gonna have pass on that hike, good thing Mike got plenty of photos. Good advice Erik, the passion comes through loud and clear.
Part II ? I hope there is more from the "Gear Geek too! Idea, maybe when my gear fails in Rocky, John could put on a short sleeved white shirt, skinny tie and horned rimmed glasses and be Geek squad to the rescue!
Well done to all
Charlie

Finally had a chance to listen. I learned the following:
-Now I know I can add Lost Lake to the list of hikes I will not be making.
-That Erik fellow sure likes to talk about taking purty pictures. He talked about MickyDs which made me hungry. I think he said he works in a big red building near the Dairy Queen. Mmmmm, butterfinger blizzards. I am still looking for an alarm clock for my camera.
-That Gear Geek fellow sure knows a lot about boots. I wonder why? Does he have a hiking boot fetish? Not that there is anything wrong with that.
It was all very educational.

I just listened to the podcast while doing some data entry on Saturday. Erik, I must admit, I found myself laughing at some of your statements and thinking, "That's SO Erik!" - especially the alarm clock and the comments about John's lemons.
No, but I hear that he does have a foot fetish.

Seriously? That would actually be very helpful. I don't have a clue what socks to buy for hiking and either end up with feet too hot or too cold.

OK, so this is my very first post......hope it works! lol I listened to the Podcast and really enjoyed it (especially Erik's info about photography). I had my tripod in my car when I totalled it (YIKES!) and now I'm looking to buy a new tripod since it got pretty much totalled too.
I don't remember what kind I had (it was older and I didn't use it very often). But, after listening to Erik, I decided I must have a new one. Any suggestions??

Thanks for the welcome John. Guess I'll just have to shop around and see what's out there.

grannyheart....you may want to start a new topic in the photography equipment forum as well so that you get a better and more focused response there. There are many people who love to talk photography gear....but they may not catch it in this particular forum. Welcome aboard!!

I'll try to find the photography equipment forum, Aaron, and post a new thread on tripods. I'm still trying to get my bearings around here. Thanks for the advice!

By the way, when do you think the itunes store will have your podcast again?
I found out what the hold up was....an xml error on my part. I've corrected it and it should be up in a week or so on iTunes again.
