Hey Mr.

I have a weather related question for you. The last couple of weeks I've been going crazy with the morning clouds. For photography what I need are clouds over the mountains and clear skies where the sun rises in the east. Instead, all I've been getting are no clouds over the mountains and lots of clouds at in the east at sunrise. What this does is ensure that I don't get any nice light on the mountains and have empty skies over them to work with.

About an hour or two after sunrise the situation changes but by then it is too late to get a decent photo. Every morning has pretty much been like this for the last couple of weeks. So here are my questions:
1. What causes the clouds to consistently develop in the east at night and disappear from the mountains?
2. Is it likely to change in the next week or two?
3. How can I get an idea the night before if I'm likely to have conditions worth getting up early for?
