The audio had some glitches here and there and in spots (mostly only when I speak) has a digital garble sound to it. It's tolerable, I hope, so just expect that when you listen. Kyle Patterson was a great guest! You all will like this show/episode. R from A kicks off the first segment in a series that will review/cover one hike in the park. That segment is tentatively titled "Trail Mix". The gear geek strikes again with the ten essentials. And the show finishes with some podsafe music by Jimmie Bratcher, "Mercy" (Blues Rock).

I know I'm not Aaron, but I think I can answer this. The file you downloaded was probably the original unedited version, with just the interview.
I just checked the iTunes site to see if the final version is on there....the file on there is 1:06 long, so according to Aaron's post above, that is the final version. So, if you delete the file you downloaded and download the new version it should work.

I haven't heard it yet, but Mike - do you sound more like Bee or John?
Bill
(BTW - I sound alot like me.)

I sound like me, too....what a coincidence! I would suggest that you give it a listen and judge for yourself. Being a lifelong resident of non-southern states, however, I do not think I resemble either Bee's Texan or John's Joplinese inflection.

Yep, Mike is 150% correct
Check it out y'all....then come back here and unload on me about what you thought. I know about the audio issues.....i.e. garbled spots here and there. I also have some polishing work to do in the future by getting more voiceovers done so that transitions are smoother from segment to interview and interview to segment, etc. Let me know what you think about the content, flow, etc. Praises, critiques, criticism, etc. I'm unaware of any other podcast dedicated to a specific National Park. So I'm influenced by my favorite podcasts.
I've heard there is a gear geek fan club already.
Oh, and Marv.....who wins the rmnpforums.com thong you were going to award to the member who correctly guessed the # of "uhs" & "ums" I had?
Big thanks again to Kyle Patterson, Mike, and John

...as there should be! John's first segment inspired me to upgrade my raingear!
However, despite this fan club, there is apparently a group that does not share these feelings. This unknown anti-gear-geek element has already managed to accidentally not record John's segment, and subsequently tried to mute him in the final version. Clearly, someone wants to silence the gear geek.
Thanks for the thanks, Aaron, but the pleasure was all mine!

You might want to add resource/links on the special features too. Especially the Gear Geek, you could link items that he discussed to the appropriate spot at REI, and perhaps generate some transactions that way.

Yes! Something I keep forgetting to do. That'll be my after church project. Thanks Marvman

One of the ten essentials always mentioned is sunglasses. I have to admit that I never take them, and not really sure why that one is considered essential. As a person that wears glasses, sunglasses are a real problem. The other problem with sunglasses is that they cause strange color and brightness distortions in my camera viewfinder. I almost always use a polarizer on my camera when hiking. It helps to take that off, but many shots need that polarizer.
Does anyone else have problems using sunglasses with their camera? How do you deal with that?

I just buy cheap sunglasses, because I always lose them. I wonder whether, if I had nicer ones, would this problem with camera screen still happen?
