DCM...I had to post the "typical Southern view of cold/snow", even though I am moving toward tolerance! In fact, I've already talked with my wife about shifting our visit in a year or two when the kids are older...not coming at the July/August week, but during the Christmas break from school. I think that trip itself would be a gift...and staying at our west-side favorite place a few days during the winter would give us all a very different perspective on the area. Really, I'm getting "warmed up" to the idea of a winter trip...

In Chicago...just waiting on the plane to Denver. A bit delayed as expected. Hopefully I still have time for a short hike today.

Tomorrow we finally get the answer to the question asked thoughout the ages....

CAN CHIMPS LEARN TO USE SNOWSHOES?

Yet another scientific breakthrough courtesy of RMNPforums.

Perhaps MissSilly feels a thesis coming on?

Should we commission Marvman to write the trip report in advance? caribou.gif We could use some details regarding their impending doom. (did I say that? I meant their encounter with Puffy the 6 legged Pirate Rabbit.)

That is already in the works, silly human. You don't think I'd let an opportunity like this just go by? Aaron's Stomp report starts first thing tomorrow morning....

We'll you may have to write a trip report that would have been if the storms screw up the interstate and keep me from making it out there. The first wave is supposed to bring sleet/ice. The next wave is supposed to drop about 5" of snow in some of the cities/towns along the interstate. If that's the case then I'm gonna be safer than sorry.

Forecast looks better. I'm gonna load up the car in a few minutes. It looks like the weather may be nice to me! I sure hope it is. Plus, I'd hate to not go and prevent Marvman from writing my trip report for me.

I talked to Glenn this morning. He was on the trail to Dream Lake while he was talking to me. I could almost smell the crisp mountain air.....ahhhh only eight hours of driving and I'll be there. I'll bring back plenty of pictures for you guys.....probably not many Malokian pics though. (there can be only one)

Have a safe drive out there and a wonderful stomp when you arrive, Aaron. ciao.gif

We're all looking forward to Marvman's tale - but let us hear how the real deal is going, too.

Malok & Smudge - good luck during the invasion!

AND HAPPY SNOWSTOMPING TO ALL!
