You have NO idea just how much I would love to take you up on that offer -- even if it's supposed to be an Old Boy's Club kind of thing!!!
Meanwhile, like on the Cookbook thread, I'm spending my day baking. I can't have Colorado right now, but I sure can eat good. :P

You do not have to be in tremendous shape to snowshoe, but you should be able to handle hiking in the high altitude. No one will be in any hurry so frequent rests are okay. Everyone would probably want to stop and take photos and soak up the scenery, so there should be no problems. Snowshoeing is just like hiking. It only takes a little bit to get used to walking with the snowshoes on. I went two years ago and it wasn't too bad, even though I did step on the back of my snoeshoe once or twice and fell over. Luckily there was no one around to see me do that.
There are also a few places to rent shoes and poles fairly cheap, I think most of us would be renting them.
We will be working out details on finding places to stay, I don't think anyone wants to camp out in the snow, well at least I don't think I do!

Anyway, it would be fun to have a real adventure together. I guess that a number of folks will have to rent snowshoes, headlamps and perhaps other gear for this trip. I'll try to look into this. Our neighbors run one of the main rental stores in Estes and I have to get a bunch of stuff for an almost identical adventure with friends the day after Thanksgiving. I'll try to find out what the prices are and how many we need for a group discount. Again, Smudge might have some ideas or contacts to help too.
