Great stuff John, as usual!! Thanks for sharing! Hard to believe I live only 1.5 hours from there, and I haven't been up to Haiyaha for almost 25 years!!! That's just wrong. I actually had a chance to go up there for sunrise with a friend yesterday too, and turned him down because of other commitments. Now I see I should have just done it! Thanks again!

Oh yeah, I'll have to try that 1pm photography stuff too. sure beats getting up at 4AM!!

Great hike! We did that one as a family last year (except in the other direction), and was so pleasantly suprised by how few people were hiking around us. One of the underrated hikes in the park, but it's awesome!

Can't wait to see what you're up to next.

We went up to Lake Haiyaha for the first time a week and half ago - I don't know how we've missed this spectacular hike over the past few years.

After church and a quick lunch we got to Glacier Gorge Trailhead at 1:30 p.m.  Not the perfect time for hiking, but it is the optimal time for outdoor photography.

Hey, John, may I ask what church you attend when you are in Estes (and forgive me if it's already mentioned in one of the other threads, I'm playing catch up this afternoon)?

Each time I've gone to church here, I've gone to a different one. This time we went to the Evangelical Free Church. A great service and nice bathrooms as well.

That's actually a great idea! You know...to check out all of the churches and find out which bathrooms you like best. If you're ever up to it, I'd love to see a church comparison review, since I can't be nostalgic and attend the Old Church Shops while in town on a Sunday morning.
