Those of you who read my initial trip report may remember that I said I rented a little one room cabin that was cute as can be and was sufficient for my purposes. However, after two nights there the water heater sprung a leak, and while I was over at Sandy's and Bill's eating steak, drinking champagne and looking at the stars at the AVC, that little leak was spreading across the carpet in my one room cabin. When I returned at 10 pm I had to call the owner, a sweet elderly lady, to come and check the water heater. She told me that the next morning she'd put me in Cabin 1. I had no idea at the time what that meant for me.
I have stayed at Triple R several times, usually in Cabin 3, which is small but very livable, but this time I was in Cabin 4 since I was alone and was trying to be economical. I had no idea that Cabin 1 was a three bedroom cabin with a full bath, full kitchen, full dining room and large living room. I could easily live in that house year round. It cost twice as much as the cabin I'd rented, but since mine was unlivable due to the leak (and subsequent absence of water), I got this free upgrade. I felt like Cinderella after the Fairy Godmother had paid a visit.
I was as happy as I could be in my big cabin the rest of the week. So later in the week when the cold winds howled, I was drinking hot chocolate on the couch in my big spacious living room instead of huddled on the bed in my one room cabin.
Here's my before cabin:

Hey Cinderella, you did good. Those fairy godmothers wanted to make up for your last trip when you were sick, and wanted you to have an extra special trip this time. I could live in the cabin year round, too. Almost as big as my house. Thanks for the pics. That last one of you says it all - happy happy happy

Well, she sure made up for it! And to think I almost didn't go on this trip, and it turned out to be one of the best ones ever.
And no, Bill, those are not bunny slippers on my feet. It does look like it, though, doesn't it?

Congrats on 1000 posts! Woo Hoo!
(And thanks for the idea. I'm already reading up on how to sabotage a water heater so I can get a cabin upgrade next time I'm there)
