Aaron....I enjoyed reading this thread (which I had not read before) because it brought back memories. I used to be a faithful Trailhead reader, and I think I even chatted with you a time or two there, I accused you and Randyman (I think if was him??) of being the same person one time and you said no, you were really two different people. Do you remember that?

And then later when the Trailhead was down for those 10-12 days, I was the one who posted the question on Tom Veik's site to see if anyone knew what had happened, because I knew a lot of the same people visited that site, I'd seen their names there.

I joined this forum on Jan 26, 2004, so I was one of your first members. I just didn't get involved in posting very much until this year, but I was always checking in and reading it. That's why I felt I knew everyone here even before my first post.

I think people who love RMNP are just naturally good people! yup.gif

Thanks so much for creating this site. It's the first place I check every time I get on line.

I do remember that Rhonda. I don't recall for sure what the topic was about but I'm sure Randy and I were attempting humor on something. I believe that was the first year that I brought Randy out there. There's quite a few of us who knew of each other for a few years from the trailhead when Jesse ran it. It's been quite a while of shootin' the breeze about RMNP hasn't it. I'm glad we're all here now.

I just went back to the Trailhead and did a search and found this little exchange under the heading "Snacks" in Feb 2003. Randy was being facetious and pretending he used electric blankets at campsites, wanted to know what restaurants delivered food to the backcountry, etc., In fact, after looking it up, I discovered there was a bunch of us RMNP Forums regulars who posted on that thread, Tom Veik, John (possibly the same John as the one here, dtigg69 who I think is also here.

Here a link to it: http://216.230.195.229/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000122.html

And here's the exact exchange where I thought I had made the discovery that Randyman (aka UncleDaddy) and Aaron was the same person posting under different IDs:

Speaking of secret codes, does anybody ever get Uncle Daddy confused with aarond? I know I do. (I think you're busted.)

Close! But no cigar!!! Aaron and I work together but we are not the same...sounds like someone checks skews!!(cheater!) sometimes we use the same computer...but I'm not on his now. For the real proof, we will be there next thursday-sunday in the glacier basin campgrounds. (HINT) Look for the cars from Nebraska...maybe a black Neon and a green SHO.

I think my "mentally challenged" friend means "IP's" instead of "skews". He usually travels in a short yellow bus but not this year. Just look for the real dorky looking driver of a green SHO and you'll see Randy aka uncle daddy. Although I'd recommend steering clear of him myself. I've tried everything but he still follows me...even stink bait, but he still follows. His parents had to tie meat to him to get the family dog to play with him when he was a kid.
Seriously now...I'll hopefully end this topic.

It's been a while since this has been seen. Aaron and I talk about it once in a while and always end up cracking up. Thanks for the link, it made me laugh this am. We had fun writing it, hope it gives you all a laugh as well.

Yep, that was me. People tend to choose creative names for web use, so I figured that using my very common real name would pretty much guarantee me uniqueness. So far that has proven true. My church likes me so much they named 15 rooms after me. In fact last Sunday I heard a guy saying he had to get up in the service and go to the John. Feels great to be so loved.

It is fun to revisit an old thread like this...I think one of my first visits to the Forum involved Aaron and Randy's visit to GL, with a stolen monkey, and lots of photos, including the monkey in trouble with GL police. Now, that will either draw you right in to this place, or send you away screaming for help. I guess we all know my response...

Way to go, Aaron, on making this such a great place for everyone! yup.gif

Just wanted to bump this as January 23rd is coming soon. My goal is to have the new pages done by the 23rd. Don't expect anything spectacular or ground breaking. Just plain, simple pages coming.
