We did the hike up to Chasm Lake on the same day (9/8). We left the TH at
~ 7:30 am, and just about right when we reached the lake it was raining, then sleeting, etc. We munched down our sandwiches and headed back down quickly.
After the hike we decided to leave our tent set up over at GB campground and get a room in Estes Park for the night. We were very glad we did, as we found out it rained at the campground all night. (and it was nice to sleep in a nice warm bed after camping for the past week).
