Long's Peak next year?

I think I'll pass on that for a while. Apart from not being sure I could make it, I saw all the hikers trudging up to Longs and I didn't envy them one bit, knowing what was ahead of them. There are other hikes I'd like to do though: Chapin/Chiquita/Ipsilon or Flattop/Hallet or some of the more remote lakes. I've got the bug now so am going to have to work it out somehow to get out in the Park more.

What a great report, Jo! Thanks so much for sharing it and the pics. I agree totally that the very hardest part of that hike is the first part, and I almost gave up there the first time we went to Chasm.

Chasm Lake is a spectacular spot isn't it?!!?

...and Erik telling you that he felt lousy but didn't want to ruin the hike for you is a great idea. I'm going to use that one with my wife Linda this year.

Most excellent report Jo! Very well written! I really felt like I was there. So glad you've gotten the bug now too! Somehow knew you would! Oh, you guys need to practice those 20 second exposures! HA! Maybe you should try one with Luke in it, see how that goes!
