Our hikes were great and it was just plain fun to be away from our routine and spend time in a place we love. God's creation is such an amazing thing! Certainly, hiking to Shelf Lake was probably the most challenging physical thing I have ever done, and I'm so glad I did it. I'm sure that is probably hard for some of you to understand how it can be so hard, but remember that I'm old!
Soon school will be starting and I'll be back at work, but I'll post some cool pics from the trip on the bulletin board by my desk, so that I can take a mini vacation every now and then!
Here is one more picture that we really like.

That's not hard to understand at all! I'm 25 and have always been active, and I thought it was quite difficult getting up there. I'm so glad to hear you made it up there and enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Hiking up to Shelf Lake was a lung buster for me too. It's amazing how far you can get if you just keep going. (However slowly.)

Nice! I like that one, too!
Oh, I meant to thank BigAl and Ken for getting Michael out of his shell a bit. He's not nearly as social as I am, but someone got on the space subject!

Marsha, thanks for the kind comments about my family..."I think I'll keep 'em."

Ah, that must have been while I was looking for nothing over by the stream with Erik and Al.

Let me say that Marsha and Ken are also "delightful" - to use her word - and really great to visit and hike with. Wow, I wish I could keep up with them! Marsha, be sure to pass along to Ken a howdy from me, and my admiration for his hiking "go the distance" abilities...I want to be him!
I have to agree with the "BigAl isn't so big" comment...but he is a great guy, too. In fact, everyone we met at the picnic was "good folks." Aside to DCM, no one there asked anything about "who are your people?"
I'll need to take a few minutes this week and come up with a report or trip summary or such, as well. Marsha already said it well...having the pictures up here helps to "be there" all around the year.
