I don't know if this topic goes in this exact forum or not, but the topic of showers doesn't necessarily fall into the lodging or restaurant category, so... yeah.

I thought about doing the whole "I'm not going to take a shower or shave for 10 days" mountain man thing, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I probably would start hating myself for doing that around the 4th or 5th day. The idea of bathing in the Spectacle Lakes is somewhat appealing but I'm sure I'd just make a spectacle of myself (sorry, couldn't resist, just trying to fit in :-) ) and I'm sure the water would be very cold.

So my question is where is the best place to take a shower in Estes Park for a RMNP camper?

Thanks!

Hopefully some of the folks that have been out there recently can share some info. This was also touched on in a previous thread found here.

I think there are showers at upper Stanley Village (in the area where Safeway is).

Jo's right, Dad's Laundromat in Upper Stanley Village has showers. We went about 4 in the afternoon and didn't have to wait at all. I can't remember if it was 3 or 4 dollars.

Just for comparison purposes, how much is the car wash?

(skip the wax cycle, though)

It's $4 for the shower, $0.50 for the towel and washcloth and $0.25 for soap and shampoo when I was there this past weekend. Basically, $5 will get you clean.

I think last year it was $3 for the shower. So prices are going up. But it's essentially unlimited hot water.

I don't know about skipping the wax. It works a lot better than lotion on dry, flaky skin caused by the low humidity laugh.gif

I meant to do my work today--
but a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
and a butterfly flitted across the field,
and all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
tossing grasses to and fro,
and a rainbow held out its shining hand--
so what could I do but laugh and go?
