I'm headed out to RMNP next Saturday the 29th for 8 days and I'm wondering if the Big Horn have been sited. Usually I see them in Horseshoe Park or they are on TRR. Last time I was there in 2003 I didn't get to see them but saw everything else.

Misssilly & I saw bighorn in Horseshoe park both mornings we were there, but that was in June. Good luck, and take pictures to share, please.

Last week I saw three up on a ridge to the east of the Colorado River Trailhead. Only ones I saw all week.

We saw them up on the eastern bluff off of TRR just to the south of the Milner Pass parking lot. We've seen them here two years in a row around the 4th of July.
P.S. - Nice screen name, I assume it may be for a ball player that should have never been allowed to be anything but a Chicago Cub, Mark Grace?

Try looking before you get in the park. We have seen a bunch of them on the right before you get to the Fall River Entrance. They like to lay on the mountainside underneath some big pine trees in the shade. Look closely because they can be hard to spot when they are not moving. Just laying there watching everybody drive by.

You are absolutley correct! I hated what the Cubs did to him. He deserved better but at least he got a ring. Something the rest of the team probably won't see!

Ditto. I usually see them prior to reaching the park entrance. The last time they were not far from McGregor Mtn. Lodge.

We got to RMNP on the 15th and headed right up to sheep lakes. There was a herd of 33. Only 1 ram. The next day the same number was there. Then it tapered off with only 1 or 2 coming down the middle of the week and none on Thursday and Friday.

Nice pic!
Thanks everyone, hopefully I'll get lucky and see them when I get out there Saturday!
When I was little going out there, there used to be heards of 60 to 70 big horn in horseshoe park. Now they are so scarce!

We saw 2 on Saturday, the 22, at Sheep's Lake, we missed seeing Chipper too, should have gone when she did, however we weren't there until late on the 16th. Did have a great vacation, especially enjoyed through the eyes of an 8 year old on his first trip to the park!!! G'mal
