So we had a wonderful trip to RMNP this year. My family and I are all animal lovers so one of our big things in going to RMNP is to see as many animals as we can. This year was no disapointment. I took tons of pictures of the animals we seen and wanted to share them with all of you. The pictures are not all that great but we are proud of them just for the fact that it means we seen all of these totally cool animals. We seen most of these as we drove around the park. We loved to drive around the park right around dusk. We drove over to the west side one evening and sat out on bench right before dark along the Holzwarth trail. While we sat there 34 elk mostly mamas and babies came out of the woods and across the feild right out in front of us. I tried to take some pics of them but it was already to dark so we just sat and watched them. Over all for the week I think we seen around 150 Elk all through the park and in Ested Park too.

Here are a couple of pics of the elk..

We seen two coyotes while in RMNP. One was running through Upper Beaver Meadows. I did not get a pic of him he was to far away. The other was creeping through the meadow right after you enter RMNP at the Fall River Entrance. He was tring to creep up on somthing we could not ever figure out what but we watched him for quite a while.

Here are some pictures of the moose that we spotted on the West side. The pictures are not good but proof enough that we actually seen one.

Of course we came across countless squirrels, ground squirrels, and birds. We only found one Marmont in RMNP but seen tons of them at Mt. Evans along with the Mountain goats and sheep.

So all in all we had a great trip and seen tons of animals. Thanks again to everyone that helped me with the planning of this trip. It was a wonderful trip that we will never forget!

Probably hunting for ground squirrels. I saw a coyote in that same meadow in June, and he/she was stalking the ground squirrels. He even caught one while a crowd was watching.

Thanks for sharing the pics. smile1.gif
