On day 6 7/13 of our stay we decided we would do Bridal Veil Falls. We got up and around and headed out to find the trail head. I must say I really like this area of the park. We found our way to the Trail head after a little confusion and headed out.
It was a beautiful day sunny and very warm. We headed out and was again surprised at how often we had to stop along the way to catch our breath and rest our legs. By the time we finally made it to the forest area where we had to really start climbing we were all about to give out. It was nice to get into the cool shade of the trees and out of the sun.
When we got to the falls it was beautiful! Nice and cool. The kids and I sat and rested near the bottom of the falls while my husband did some climbing around to see the top. We rested for quite a while and then headed back. It was a long hot walk back and the kids got pretty cranky. By the time we made it to the Trail head again my youngest was worn out.
Despite it being a lot harder than we expected we still enjoyed it. There were lots of wild flowers along the way and lots of butterflies. As I said before I really like that part of the Park. The rocks are really neat! Here are some pics from our hike....

Thanks for all of your reports and pictures. It's been years since we have hiked to Bridal Veil falls, but I do remember it being very warm across the meadow part. I also remember the first time we went there that I waited at the bottom of the falls while Ken went up top to explore, but the next time I did the old rock climb too. I've gotten a lot braver and tougher as the years have gone by! I hope your family will have many more adventures in RMNP!

Great report! I love this falls. My wife and I hiked there one day, and I took our stove to warm up lunch. After boiling the water, I decided to put some of it in a plastic bottle (the kind you buy with spring water in it) and mix up some drink mix because the water was purified by the boiling. I planned on cooling it in the stream. It melted my bottle! So we had a good laugh at that beautiful spot.
