Best guess...what is "a bit longer?"  10 min.?  30 min?  More?

John - I'm guessing 15 minutes - although we've never actually timed it
by the clock....

How much longer it takes depends on where you cut over to the Peak To Peak Highway. If I'm not taking the Clear Creek Canyon route, I usually go up through Boulder Canyon to Nederland and then head north. I, too, have never timed the difference - but it's so beautiful I don't much care!

Besides, there's always a stop at Lily Lake involved. . . .

We take hwy 7 if we go over to Indian Peaks to do some hiking. It is beautiful! We've never hiked up Lily Mountain. We'll have to add it to the "to do" list.

Does the Hwy 7 route run along the St. Vrain River? I, uh, fell in there once. So, if that's the route, yep, we've done it!! Very pretty and nice slick rocks too!!

I wholeheartedly agree with Dee! Going through Boulder Canyon and on to Estes via Peak to Peak so beautiful, you won't care if it takes a few extra minutes ... worth the drive!!
