Awesome hike with my best friend yesterday. This was my second time to Wild Basin (first was in April) and we were able to go quite a bit farther since the snow has melted. One of the most beautiful day hikes I've ever been on... incredible scenery. My wife and I are going to be backpacking this area in July and I cannot wait!
If anyone can help out with the names of peaks & plants in some photos, I would really appreciate it.
I was surprised we did not see any elk or deer on this hike, despite our efforts to be quiet and watch for them. We did however encounter many randy chipmunks, an American Dipper, a large Flicker, a big fat Blue Jay, small trout, and of course more bugs than you can imagine. Only one chipmunk was kind enough to pose for me.
