This was our "splurge meal" during our weekend getaway to Estes. I had heard that it was a bit more expensive than we normally would spend, but we thought we'd give it a try anyway.
* Atmosphere-- 2.5 stars
Not quite what I was expecting. I thought it would be a bit more upscale. Nice, clean and fuctional with a bit of a Scandinavian/Industrial feel to it. Just didn't fit in with what I had in my head.
* Service-- 4 stars
Excellent waitstaff. Friendly, helpful and attentive. Supplied suggestions and answered questions regarding menu. These are the kind of folks I tip well.
* Food-- 4 1/2 stars
I had the Elk Tenderloin and LLA had the Trout. I had been trying to find elk at a reasonable price for quite a while. LLA likes to try out the trout when we are in Estes. Both were very good, as well as the side dishes. Portions were good sized, all in all a very good meal on both sides of the table.
*Price-- 3 1/2 stars
I know that there are people that think nothing of dropping one hundred dollars a plate on a meal, but that is NOT US. Total with tax and tip was about $60.00. I walking in expecting it to be right in that neighborhood, so I knew what I was getting in to.
* Overall-- 3 1/2 stars
Upscale price, great food and service but the surroundings didn't reflect what they were trying to convey. I enjoyed it, but will probably not be going back. There are lots of other places to try out in Estes, at a better price and ambience.
