Got to the trailhead around 9am to find it pretty busy. It was an overcast day, but that kept the temperature much more bearable than we had the previous day.

This is a very pretty trail

Quickly got to the Cascades and found someone having a wedding of sorts.

(the wedding was actually at Copeland Falls).....I can't seem to edit the original post.

The view from a nice refreshing spot on the side of the falls. Slippery going, but the mist really gave us a nice break from the sun and heat.

Above the falls, we made our way across Ouzel Creek via a fallen tree to climb our way to this viewpoint. This is where it got even more interesting.....

While taking a break for a snack, we noticed something shinny in a tree close to us. Figuring we'd pick up whatever wrapper or trash was blown there, we investigated and found a set of 3 dogtags hanging on a branch.

We returned them they way we found them.

Personally, I found this discovery very to be very endearing that a family or friends would tribute their loved one in such a way (although the characteristics tag suggests that there's an interesting story to be told).

I share this not to invade their privacy, but to once again prove that RMNP is a place that many hold special....so special that his loved ones found it necessary to remember him here.

Thanks for taking us along the trail with you. I liked your shots from the falls, both the one from the side and above the falls are perspectives I haven't seen before. Nice report!
