THE place to eat in Grand Lake. Copied from an old post last summer.

Atmosphere-- Nice atmosphere. Every table gets a bucket of peanuts and the shells go on the floor. It also has the bars from the old grand lake jail on one wall. Kind of an old west theme. 4 stars!

Service-- Waitress was very helpful and attentive. She had lots of tables and took a little long to get to us initially, but was great after that. 4 stars.

Food-- Quite possibly the best meal I had out on the trip. I had the sliced pork dinner. It was incredible - the flavor was awesome and the meat was tender. Portion was also very large - I had the left overs for dinner. It came with 2 sides - I had a baked sweet potato and beans. I added some BBQ sauce to the beans to sweeten them up and they were great. I believe my plate was around $13. My wife had the lunch special - which was a sliced pork sandwich + one side for about $8. Kids had chicken nuggetts (surprise, surprise). 5 stars.

Overall-- 4 1/2 stars. I would go back here again in a heartbeat. We live in KC (a big BBQ city) and the flavor of the meat rivaled anything I have had here (even Jackstacks).

Only bad thing I can say about this was that I was so full I had to walk around a bit before I was able to order up my Malt Ball Fudge dessert!
