Southwest Airlines will begin service to DIA next year. Details of routes will be announced the week of Oct. 24, 2005.

I have been wishing for this for years! Of course, until they announce the routes, who knows who this will help. Still, maybe some folks will see a fare break out of this.

Southwest is in Pittsburgh right now. I hope they pick up a flight to Denver.
At this time they fly to Philly & Chicago for $29. I know Denver wouldn't be this cheap, but at this time through US Air or United always cost over $300.

We already have Frontier non-stop to Denver, and SW flies lots of places from LR. I wonder if we'll get a Denver flight without having a Dallas or Oklahoma stop in it? It seems that SW is cheap, but often involves lots of segments...

Hooray for competition!

Yeah, sometimes I think it's worth paying more to get a direct flight. I travel with 3 sometimes 4 kids, so I really prefer not to stop on the way.

My big problem lately has been lack of choices since Delta dropped its Dallas hub. (Somehow, flying to Denver by way of Atlanta or Cincinnati doesn't appeal to me.) I sure hope this will add another (+cheaper) one.

Actually, Southwest is pretty much my airline of choice now. The main drawback is the fact that there is a limit on how far in advance you can book tickets. Still, I've had a positive experience every time I've flown Southwest.

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR KIDS!

I'd better call the airline...

Southwest is what we always flew out of STL to the east. Never had any problems, except weather-related delays at STL. Last Feb. I flew Frontier from STL to DIA and it was fine too.
