New To RMNP Forum

I just found the RMNP Forum and registered this morning. My wife and I have
been visiting RMNP/EP since early 1980's and returning as often as possible. Over
the years we have visited many of the National Parks in the U.S., but we always
return to RMNP. As you already know, there's something special it. We love the
the park, wildlife, hiking, etc. and all the seasons.
Since I am new to this, it may take awhile to get up to speed.
Looking forward to the topics and discussions.

Just jump on in- we're not formal around here!
You'll find all sorts of advice and experience- AWESOME photos- and more than our fair share of craziness!
We're like one big loopy family 'round here- complete with a couple crazy uncles, several grandmas who look after things, and all sorts of assorted people. Someone can give you a link to a thread called "cast of characters" that may help you figure stuff out.
Look forward to hearing from you!

Hello!
I hope that, since you are from STL, you are huge Cardinals fans!!! I too am from STL, although I moved out to Fort Collins, CO about 2 months ago to pursue graduate work at Colorado State University. But I still bleed Cardinal red. :) And baseball has it's discussions around here, as you'll see.
I've been visiting Rocky since 1980 myself, and there's really no place I'd rather be. :) Make sure to look at all of Malok's (Erik's) pictures on the photography forum. They're great. :)

Let me introduce myself. I am the Smudge. I get very angry all of the time and when I do, I begin spitting uncontrollably...you should see my monitor...it has windshield wipers. I am a man but enjoy wearing childrens clothing in public and then yell at people that stare. All I drink is Kool Aid and, as is the norm here, all I eat are Cheeze Its. I celebrate Christmas over Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving over Christmas just to annoy my friends. I travel to remote areas of the world, such as manhattan, kansas to take footage of indiginous humans and I sell my work to Cher (a closet humanoid addict). It's tough, but pays the bills. And last, but not least, I have a sidekick named Daisy. She is a 600lb German Calico that gives rides to the children that visit the Estes Valley in the summer. She has a waggy tail and is fuzzy.
Now you know of the Smudge....
and if you are still planning on sticking around after reading that, you'll be allright...
adios,
smudge

I can't believe he said something that ridiculous, he doesn't have friends.

Prof is correct, I am only one of the many strange hatted people here. Most of the others are named Marvman!
Smudge - Go to your room - NOW!! We'll let you out again soon. Can't take that boy anywhere anymore!
Marvman - You know how sensitive Smudge is about his lack of friends!
John & Jen - We'll have no more of that Go Cardinals blather either. There will be plenty of that after the Cards lose to Houston!
Rick & Janine, I am so sorry if we've embarrassed you, it's normally only like this at the full moon!

I guess if I'm supposed to say something nice, I can't bring up ProfHall's Post Your Mug picture in regards to the strangely hatted men comment, huh?
Check the Cast of Characters topic for Who's Who type info.
The Gallery is a great place to start for photo viewing.
Despite all the craziness above, we're really glad to have you aboard!

Oh, yeah. I hate to tell you this, but 007 is slightly exaggerating - it's like this 24/7. But we all have a really good time & mean no harm by any of it.

Who are you calling loopy? We are all perfectly normal and sane. No one on this forum ever does anything out of the ordinary or unusual. We are a prim and proper sedate group of fine upstanding individuals who share a common interest in all things RMNP related. I am shocked, shocked I say that any one would ever think otherwise.
Yeah right. Welcome to the loony bin. It is a fun place to hang out. You never know what might happen next.
