Plutarch, try and snatch an A95 or if you have a bit more the S2 IS. There are still some places getting rid of their inventory of A95's.

My Sony Cybershot has a dial that can be set to "Auto," aperature priority, shutter priority, and full manual. It's not alone in this regard...my DSLR has a dial like that, too!
