The owners of the Warming House are offering a new hiking experience. Inn to Inn hiking. The route is 42 miles long with stops at Inns along the way and food and supplies waiting for you at these stops. The cheapest package price is $695.

That sounds pretty interesting, doesn't it? My boss and his wife did something like that a few years ago in the Napa Valley on bicycles, and said it was one of the coolest experiences of their lives. Apparently, they really "wine and dine" you in style at the places you stop for the night.

I wonder if you go by yourselves, or if you have to go in a group. And I'm assuming the $695 is per person, which would make it pretty darn expensive, wouldn't it?

The article said that the $695 was for double room (two people?) for 4 days/5 nights. Also included breakfast and lunch and other stuff. Break it down over 5 nights and its really not too bad.

When we were in Estes in August I had quite a visit with the owner and he was telling me about his European hikes of this style including a particularly interesting trip across Ireland (picture an EP brew in every litlle village).
I think its an interesting concept and these folks should know how to do it with their personal experience.

I saw an article about this back in August when we wer in EP...in the local paper, with some pictures. It was written kind of like one of the forum's "hiking trip reports" combined with a lodging review. The idea seems pretty cool...you hike, they move your stuff from lodge to lodge, you arrive for dinner, hot tubs, etc. and have a nice breakfast and set out again.

And, yeah, it does sound kind of Vermonty, doesn't it?! jester.gif

*The opinions expressed by Druw do not necessarily reflect the views of RMNP Forums, its owner, moderators or general users. We are pretty sure Druw was not intending to offend those that live in the state of Vermont, their relatives, nor anyone who occasionally vacations there. As far as we know, the only "freak[s] (sic) in Vermont" is no longer being given consideration as the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United State of America, and we doubt he would be offended if he ever by chance read such statements.....YEAAAAHHGGG!!

Whew! Thanks, 'poke! I hadn't considered the effect this might have on our understaffed and under funded legal department.

In celebration of my 300th post I have modified my signature line to help head off any future legal issues.

~Druw~
(I will also, in the future, refer to Vermont as South Canada.)

Glad I could help, although that might be giving Canada undeserved credit. whistling.gif

Right on the money Druw. Go ahead and speak for me.

I wonder if the person that wrote that has even realized it yet? poster_oops.gif
It's cracking me up to think about the look on his/her face when they realize they've given away a state rofl45.gif
