Sounds intriguing, Marvman. But who are you more afraid of, ProfHall by himself or the rest of us all bunched together?

What kind of poll? I've already "pinned" my mug, so there isn't any doubt about the "little round man with a white beard" thing being WAY OFF. I'm intrigued...Marvman, you are way clever, so I'm game for being a poll subject again if you're dreaming it up! :P

I do collect MUGS and take a different one to class in the same attempt to see who's noticing. It usually takes 3 or 4 WEEKS, not classes, before anyone catches on!

Hey, ProfHall - now that classes are cranking up again, you need to keep us up to date on the "mug watch."

If you're bored with that, you could try humming a different "ear worm" each day & see how long it it takes them to catch on (& revolt.)

(Now why didn't I think of that back when I was teaching speech as a grad student?)

Will do...Monday I used my "Morning Thunder" mug from the Celestial Seasons store in Boulder, even though it held coffee instead of tea. It has a great image of a buffalo charging across the plains with the Front Range (or something representative) in the background. And the name...seemed just right to start a morning class on the first day!

Today I used my "Heifer International" mug. HI is a food/hunger relief agency that operates world-wide, with headquarters here in Little Rock. It's an amazing agency that focuses on helping folks become self-sufficient in sustainable food production appropriate to their locations. You can "buy" rabbits, goats, chickens, and even water buffalo to donate to families around the world. Then the deal, like a Habitat homeowner having to work on future houses, is to share some of the animal's offspring in your area with other families so they can move up with you...

Check out this link to Heifer

This was a fundraiser at our church. The kids did a bottle collection (we have deposits on bottles and cans in Michigan) and then after the bottles were returned and monies were collected the children got to vote on what animals they wanted to buy. It was fun. The kids enjoyed the voting process.

I know this is off topic, but hey, it is a charitable organization. rolleyes.gif

Funny story about this pic. I was trying to balance the camera on the car, when a road construction crew worker came up and asked if we wanted our picture taken. So this picture was taken by the flag man, and he did a fine job, IMO. This is my wife Sandy and I, taken on the road towards Moraine Park, Sept. 2002. We went last year, but none of the pictures of us were nearly as nice as this one. Several people have asked how I got that backdrop - was it digitally superimposed. I tell them it was easy, just stand in front of the mountain, and hope they are repaving the road in that particular area.

    Well it worked.
But I noticed I have to make the photo rather small to shrink the file size, and when I click on thethumbnail to see the image bigger it comes out very blurry. What should I do to prevent this.
    Thanks, :( Glenn

Is this from your digital camera or scanned from film prints? What did you use to reduce the size? Something could have made it blurry when you reduced the file size unsure.gif

You could email me the original and I could sharpen it up if the original is blurry. Somehow I can probably help you get that sharpened up.

Thanks for posting your mug though. Nice family pic! five.gif

I took the picture with a digital camera. The original file size was 1.57mb. I used Adobe Photoshop and went in to image size and changed the pixel size. Did I do this wrong. I'm fairly new to all of this.

    Okay, here's what you do...

Go to the "Image" menu. Click on it and select "Image Size...". Then type in the width you desire, like 600 pixels. Make sure the "Constrain proportions" box is checked. Then click ok.

Is that how you did it? I wouldn't think that would make you lose any pixels.
