Hi Joe -

Welcome to the RMNP forums! Glad to have you join us.

Is there a specific distance that you are looking for? You might look at the Chasm Lake hike. This is a great hike through a variety of terrain. Its about 8.5 miles round trip with some pretty good elevation gain. Maybe this is a more strenuous hike than you are looking for but you could avoid the construction and congestion of the Bear Lake road.

Here is a bit bigger list of trails: http://www.nps.gov/r...king_trails.htm

Have fun and enjoy your trip!
