We are making our annual trip to RMNP at the end of July, and I am looking for some new hiking experiences.
Specifically, I was wanting some insight on some good hikes that have a great payoff during the journey, not just at the destination.
For example, one of my favorite hikes is Blue Lake in Indian Peaks because there is so much to see on the way there (varied terrain, towering peaks, river crossings,etc.).
Any other great "journey" hikes that you guys could recommend?

Sky Pond. The route takes you by Alberta Falls, the Loch, Timberline Falls, Lake of Glass and finally to Sky Pond.

Thanks for the ideas -
Ed, I was thinking about trying to summit Ypsilon for the first time, so this confirms that I need to give it a try.
John, I hiked to Sky Pond about 5 years ago and I agree - what a great journey! Maybe it is time to do it again
Any other ideas? Mt. Ida? Mt. Audubon? Black Lake?

Ida gets you up on the divide early, you can see east and west most of the way .. The Gorge lakes and of course topping out!

Infinity! Oh, hike, I thought you said album. For a Journey hike, I think Sky Pond offers the most bang for the buck. Love that hike.
