Found an interesting web page.. It shows the wind map of the United States.. it is dynamic, I don't know how often it refreshes

If you compare that with a standard weather map (say, here) you can see how features match up.
Given that the surface winds are what's being animated, it's more like a "hole" above you -- which, in a sense, is what a low pressure center is. HPH
