Great video, Ed. This section of the climb to Everest is maintained by Ice Doctors. It's a dangerous job. http://www.gadling.c...humbu-icefalls/

Very neat video Ed. Thanks for posting the link. I've read that the Khumbu Icefall
is the most dangerous part of the climb to the summit of Everest. Easy to see
why given the spectacular shots in that video.

Ed,
thanks for posting the video. It was very timely as I have just finished re-reading "Into Thin Air" about 2 weeks ago

Speaking of Everest, look at the crazy situation caused by the crowds on Everest now!

It's getting a bit out of hand I think.

I've always equated more users to a bigger voice in voting but there is the down side. It's getting a bit out of hand I think.
Climbing on fixed lines with lines of people, not the experience it was for Hillary.
Reports have it that 115 summitted yesterday/today.

I follow Everest at this site. http://www.everestnews.com/ They report 299 summits this year and 9 deaths.

If you have never seen it, "Everest, Beyond the Limit" was a great series on Discovery channel. Filmed in 2006. Each segment is about 43 minutes, there are 5 or 6 of them on you tube...
