We finally got some snow here in Northeastern Illinois and I was able to get out to a local forest preserve for a hike. We had about 7 inches of heavy wet snow and for most of the trail i was the first one to walk on it. Here is a picture of one of the few inhabits sharing the preserve with me.

I can just imagine the silence in the forest with the fallen snow. Love the picture.

That's so pretty, Clint. We see a lot of deer when we are out on the trails here, but usually only from a distance. They all seem pretty spooky. Looks like a wonderful day to be out.

It was a great day day to be out and about. I had to use a lot of telephoto to get that shot. I was probably at least 75 yards away from this doe.
