...post my picture to my profile? Before the crash last week, I was able to find the place to upload photos to my profile, but they were apparently too big. Then the system crashed and now I cannot find the place that gives me the option to upload a picture. Any help would be appreciated. I also tried to post this under the topic of "help", but that topic redirected me. Not that any of you are dying to see my ugly mug, but it's nice to have a face with a name sometimes. Thanks!

Jim

Go to your profile, then click on "my settings" in the upper right hand corner - I just did this & when I went back to the page a second later it said "edit my profile" instead of "my settings" - weird huh? So apparently either one could be there - ha! Click on that then photo should be the second thing listed with a box you can click saying "change my photo." Click on that & you can upload one from your computer if it is small enough. If it isn't small enough, go to photobucket & upload it, then resize it, then save it to your computer, then go back & upload the new smaller one to the forums. Let me know if you still don't get it & I'll help you problem solve.

Iceberg-

I just tried that, and I got nothing. The second thing listed is still 'time zone'. Funny, I saw it before the forum crashed last week, and now I can't get to the upload option....thanks for trying to help!

I clicked edit my profile, and change my photo was the second thing listed. It must be a guy thing.

I just did that, too, and again, "time zone" was the second thing listed. Are you really going to turn this into gender bashing ;)???

Can't be a guy thing because you did ask for directions.. that in of itself puts you above most all guys.. well those without GPS anyway ..

Wow, it is even easier than that. I clicked on my gorgeous picture, and there was the word Change at the top left of the profile picture. I clicked that and the screen to upload a new picture appeared. I'm doubly blessed.

Interestingly or not, I can't find an option for my picture either.

Jim, you may have to bug ADMIN about it.
They're pretty quick to solve issues.
When you find out, let us know.

Thanks,
Mike

I tried to see if I could do something as a moderator but it's above my pay grade. I'll send a message to DeeCeeM for you.

I don't think this will have any effect, but just to be clean, try logging out ("Sign out" at top right) and then logging in again.

Otherwise, this is a job for a Super-Admin. HPH

I know that at one time you had to make a certain number of posts before your could customize your photo. If you lost posts in the crash, you may have dipped below that number. I'll keep looking into it on the control panel, but you might try adding a few posts and trying again. (The number was pretty low.)

Also, scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure you are using the Aspen32 theme. I'm going to send to a pm about the problem.

It's a permission setting for the "members" usergroup. Any admin can change this. I'm not able to get to a computer anytime soon to do this. Just have my phone with me for now.

What a coincidence, SkiBudFrank was just pointing out the missing picture upload button to me this week. I thought it was probably a permissions thing. He's Jonesing to put a ski avi up.
