The North Fork of the Flathead River is in the Northwest corner of Glacier National Park and is far less traveled than the other areas in GNP. We took the Empire Builder to Whitefish then drove over an hour to Polebridge, Montana. Stayed for 2 nights in a forest service cabin before heading into the Backcountry for a measly 3 nights. I need to get back up there for more exploring!

Well, you've got a good resource here with the forum and I think you'll find Rocky's granite interesting.
It sure looks like you've got the strength to do what ever, just gotta keep them kiddos happy.

Looks like a lot of great memories in a beautiful place.

The mountains of Glacier are steep and pointy, kind of like the mountains a kid would draw in elementary school!

I want to see Glacier someday, but can't seem to break myself away from Colorado mountains. Love RMNP and especially the San Juans in SW CO. Just too close and convenient and kind of like home to me now.

This is exactly why I go to MT every year. So many places yet to see but I can't seem to break away from Glacier. I am really going out on a limb with this RMNP trip this year. Hoping its as grand as you all say it is!

Great clip GNPgirl!

Brings back good memories for me. Thank you.

Where you're standing at 1:14 is where I stood September 11, 2001.

I wish you could've seen it before all the pine beetle-kill took away so much of the beautiful green trees. Has that reached Glacier, also?

I could be wrong but I don't believe GNP has nearly the large stands of pines that RM has. The beetle infestations seem to be concentrated more towards Butte and Great Falls in the Lolo NF and Clearwater NF.

I Love Bowman Lake! I can think of no better place to have been on that day.
