The first hike I do upon arriving in the park, is a quick jaunt up Sundance for some speedy acclimatization. Last summer the wildflowers were still going strong in late July, so I took my time on the way down & took several flowers shots.

Very pretty. I'll have to go back to my files and find a picture of my favorite, the Alpine Sunflower.

Beautiful picture! We usually see only a stray flower or two blooming as we are there in September. So, I love seeing pictures like this. We climbed Sundance Mt. for the first time this past Sept. Saw a couple of flowers still in bloom, but the views were outstanding.

Just found a flower from Sundance mt that was left over in Sept. This was the only kind we saw there.

I love the flowers in the Park. When Allie and I were there in September the Aster's were still blooming, after Indian Paintbrush, I think they are my favorites. Thanks for posting these!!!

Terry, I've seen those too & I think they are very striking with the black stripe.
