Keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky.

We hit the trail head around 8:15 or so, a bit of thrashing around with gear at the car, I guess that is inevitable. In the tree's you could tell the wind was blowing but really didn't experience it until we started to break out of the trees. The gorge "winter trail" is not open, the stream is visible and you will post into the stream bed. Plus further up the large boulders that are usually covered by snow drifts into the gorge are quite evident. We took the summer trail which wasn't too bad. In fact we probably didn't need snowshoes but i feel more stable on snowshoes anyway. They came in really handy at the lake with the wind buffeting.

Too breezy for me. I pray it's not like that on March 8, 9, 10th. I can't handle it.

But if it is, I will still enjoy being in a warm cabin by a fire and looking out at beautiful snowy mountains!

That's windy. It's nice to get back into the shelter of the trees some times.

Brrrr... The two of you were very brave to be out in that howling wind. I think I would just sit in the visitor center and enjoy the view from the windows.

I'm thinking a kite or a sail would have made it interesting.... sounded like you were skydiving
