This has been a request that's popped up since the forums began. I like the idea. There have been occasions where members have sold gear through the forums by creating a topic to sell, trade, or give away their gear. This could be used for any gear related to visiting and recreating in the RMNP area and it could also have another section to sell items unrelated to RMNP I suppose.

Let me know what you think by voting. This could be an opportunity for the forums to help itself with operating costs by associating small fees for items sold through the classifieds system. I've attached a poll to this topic with the option to vote against small fees if you're against them. This would cost the forums money to have this classifieds system so we would need some way to recover that cost.

I can live without, but it may be nice. I think I would be interested as well. Don,t want more cost for forums / Aaron so if fees will do it I am all for that.

I will be happy to go along with Aaron and The Majority.

It's looking like a "go" so I'll probably pull the trigger on this purchase and get it implemented into the forums soon. I'll probably ask for input on categories sometime in the near future. I hope this is as useful as it could be and that it draws in more members here. The more the merrier

For a forum like this, there only two categories: Gear and Junk. (Unless you want to branch out to Real Estate or something.) HPH

Well, it could be used for artists selling their products. That's a likely possibility but I've not got my hands on the software yet. I'll get to it this weekend or next.

The classifieds software is now installed. I'll do some testing to get familiar with it and I'll have it open for everyone soon.

So, I've got it running and have become familiar enough with it to release it. The hold up now is the minutiae of setting it up for actual use....specifically pricing. There are many ways to do it but I'd like to hear what the majority likes. I'm not limited to this but I'd like your thoughts.

We could set the listing fee for a couple dollars for non-donating members, and obviously donating members would get to list basic listings for free (photo uploads included). To extend, or "relist", the original listing would be a dollar for non-donating members and free for donating members. Featured listings could cost both donating and non-donating members ($4/$2 respectively). Duration of listings could be 5/7 days for non-donating and 7/10 for donating. Obviously, I'd like to use the classifieds to encourage people to become donating members for the forums.
