Definitely heading uphill Friday. Thinking of trying the Lawn Lake trail if there are not too many trees down or ice on the trail. Or maybe Emerald Lake if the road is cleared.
Any info on conditions in these areas would be appreciated. Hike, Yaktrax or snowshoe are all ok.

I was up at Lawn Lake right after the first couple of big snowfalls, the 3rd of Nov to be specific. I broke the trail from about the 3 mile mark on. Upwards to a couple feet in some spots while the open areas were less. I used snow shoes for most of the trip, from about the 3 mile mark on. Didn't really need to but decided to pack down a trail for others. But, that was before the big winds so don't know how it would be now.

Here are a couple of pictures of that trip. The first is of Lawn Lake. The second is a picture of the trail on my way up (from where I came from).

OMGosh, I was thinking Lawn Lake too, but then I thought, I haven't hiked in a month and that might be too ambitious a destination. 4.2 to Sandbeach sounds perfect.

I wasn't really thinking going all the way to Lawn Lake. I really like the area around the bridge and I've tried to make it to Ypsilon Lake but my hiking partner couldn't do it. Its been a while since I've been that ambitious so Sandbeach is a good choice.
Maybe next year after I have my hiking muscles back again.
Its amazing how quickly they deteriorate.
