How is this for being spoiled...
My first time snowshoeing happened in RMNP over the weekend with Igloo Ed as mentor?!
Could there be a better combination?!

Saturday November 5, 2011 Bear Lake Trailhead
Weather was good, varying between sunny and partially cloudy with a few flakes.
And Ed's buddy Frank joined us.

Here are a few pix from the day:

Looks like a fine first outing, and the instruction couldn't have been better.

Now just wait until you're out there in 4' of snow! HPH

SkiBudFrank said he didn't care, they were his rock skis. A couple more storms and it'll be reasonable skiing.
The depth is 18 inches and maybe 2 feet in the shaded areas but it is a firm base so far.
