P.S. If you like or are interested in winter camping, there's an annual outing called "Stomp" that you can look in to. I plan to help build as many igloos as wanted this year. :hifive:
That... and there's a crazy guy here, with an infatuation for building igloos on summits, that can't find any other crazies.
I'll be going up both days this weekend. No idea what I'll be doing, just need to get out and hoping for a bit of a workout too. I'd be in for an igloo build just for practice or something loftier if you have any interest.

Gosh Ed, I'd love to go out!

Unfortunately, I don't have any snow shoes and cannot afford to rent any at this time.
I'm saving up to buy some off CraigsList in time for Stomp.

Last year there seemed to be a lot of them listed on CraigsList... "barely used, used only once!, need to go now!"
I wonder if people buy them, try them out a time or few, and decide it's just not for them and then put them up for sale?

I know I'm going to like snoe shoeing because I know I'll need to use crampons in the future (which I don't have yet either). As in, I'll need to get used to the wide walking stance and utilizing snow shoes to get that much farther on treks.

The first snow won't be deep enough to require snowshoes. You just walk right through it. Might struggle a bit going the any drifts that contain snow from the last storm but that's no big deal.
Sure, snowshoes have become an impulse item to a degree. People hear from others that it is fun and then like you day, it's not their cup of tee or they have a bad experience the first time.
I also have extra snowshoes for when the time comes.
What time can ya be here?
