Hi there,

I'm going to be spending 2 days in Rocky Mountain NP and will be able to see 2 sunsets and 2 sunrises. Do any of you have suggestions for easily-hikable locations to shoot from? I'll only have hiking boots and there is snow expected today and tomorrow, so I'll likely need to stay below 9000 feet and stick to easy trails. Also, trail ridge road is closed at Many Parks Curve.

My current plan is to shoot from:

Sunset 1: Upper Beaver Meadows
Sunrise 1: Bierstadt Lake
Sunset 2: Many parks curve
Sunrise 2: ??

These are based entirely off of google earth and the park map though, so I'd love any suggestions you have!

Thanks in advance!
Eric

Sprague Lake is very accessible, especially if here is snow. Bierstadt Lake is a good choice if you can get there. Bear is always good for sunrise as well.

You can always rent snowshoes in town. Estes Park Mountain Shop and The Warming Hut rent them.

Awesome thanks for the tip. I think I will get the snow shoes!

It might be snowing for some time, so you may not be able to get any sunrise/sunset shots... But ANY day in the mountains is a good day!! Here's hoping!!

Welcome to the forums!!! Stick around, and post often!!
