We arrived the evening of September the 4th and left the evening of September the 9th. We stayed at Fawn Valley Inn four of the nights and

one night at the Discovery Lodge. Both places were nice and clean and we had no complaints. We did three hikes while we were there. The Fern

Lake Trail, Emerald Lake Trail from Bear Lake and the Sky pond Trail from Glacier Gorge Trail Head. All great hikes. Our feet and my wife's

legs were sore after the Sky Pond hike but it was worth it. We saw a lot of wildlife throughout the week. We saw black bear two different

times this trip out. We saw some moose a couple different times over on the west side of the park. Lots of elk of course. We have lots of

pictures to share. I will post some here and if you want to see more come visit our photo website. Photo Website

Here are some mule deer we saw not too far from Moraine Park.

What gorgeous pictures! You were certainly fortunate in your capture of bears and moose, especially the little ones.

Fantastic pictures. You had some great wildlife viewing. The unidentified bird might be a magpie, with the light hitting it's feathers just right they can look blue.

I was thinking this, too. Goodness knows that there are lots of magpies in Rocky. HPH

Your ability to spot and photograph wildlife on your hikes amazes me.
How do you do that?

Great pictures, indeed! What a selection of animals you found.
Just off hand, I'd think the Northern Saw-Whet Owl would be the rarest spotting. Pinemarten are getting to be a regular sighting just above Bear Lake just the last 5 years or so.
Thanks for the great pictures.

Wonderful photos! We saw a mamma moose with 3 babies on the west side when we were in the park. I would think that would be pretty rare, so I bet it was the same one you saw, but you got a closer look. Thanks for sharing all of your photos with us!
