About that rock I had to scale...my feet found little grooves and bumps about one to two feet above the water and I just moved across it using them with some help with places to grab with my hands. You can kind of see some in the picture of that rock face. I stood there for the longest time before I realized that was an option. I considered taking off my boots and wading, but the water was too deep. I considered going back a ways and trying to find a route over the spot, but I couldn't see a way to do that, and then I saw a spot I could put my foot, and then another and I just traversed across. It was a fun puzzle to solve and I was thankful I could figure out a way to do it.
