Two people were hurt Monday after separate falls at Rocky Mountain National Park.A 60-year-old Texas woman suffered traumatic injuries after falling 15 feet at Lake of Glass, 4.5 miles from the Bear Lake Trailhead.
Rangers were notified of the incident at 3:15 p.m. Monday. The woman was hiking with a family member. Two bystanders who called for help stayed with the woman. Two park rangers including a park medic reached the woman at 5:19 p.m. and moved the woman to the a landing area on the east side of Lake of Glass where she was picked up by a St. Anthony Flight for Life helicopter from Summit County.
She was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Denver. Her condition is unknown.
At 6:24 p.m. park rangers were notified of a 55-year-old Ohio man who had fallen into the water near Alberta Falls. One family member ran to the Bear Lake Trailhead for assistance and another family member helped the man down the trail until he could go no farther.
Park rangers reached the man at 6:41 p.m. He had numerous injuries including hypothermia from fal-ling in the water. He was roughly a quarter-mile mile from the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. An ambulance and paramedics from Estes Park Medical Center also responded. The man was brought down the trail by a park litter team at 8:34 p.m., who were staged for the first incident, and reached the Bear Lake Road at 8:50 p.m. He was then taken by ambulance to the Estes Park Medical Center.

As it turns out, there was a third incident the same day. The National Parks press release on all three should be migrating over here shortly.
