On Saturday Sep 3rd, I met up with Diane H at 5am, we parked my car at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and then headed on up to Milner pass. We started on trail around 6am and headed off to Jagor Point. Our original intention was to descend to Azure and Inkwell and spend some time in the Gorge. Well with all the extra snow around we couldn't find the correct descent point so we decided to just chill out on Jagor Point and enjoy the views. Having summited Mt Ida 3 times, I have to admit I really think the views from Jagor Point are even better as you can really get a good look at all the lakes in the gorge and also all the peaks surrounding them.

My dream for this summer was to get to these lakes but I settled for less ambitious goals. This makes me wish I'd have gone for these. Wonderful pictures!

Beautiful views. You can certainly see how Arrowhead got its name.

Great pictures, Staci. Looks like you had a great vantage point, pretty amazing. Someday I'll get up into the canyon further and visit those lakes.

Great group of pictures. It seems for every destination I tick off the list, 4 or 5 more get added.

I'm up to try anything. Shelby and I will be out there Aug 5th - Aug 12th spending part of the time in Estes and the last half in Grand Lake - I think we are going to try for Arrowhead - just take the long way down with an early start. You are more than welcome to tag along if you feel like it. While in Estes our big hike we are thinking about is Flattop and Taylor - yep a year away and I'm already daydreaming of RMNP :yup:
