For my first full day in the park I met up with Igloo Ed at the Bear Lake Parking Lot around 6am and we along with two of his friends, Hugh and Ryan, heading up towards Otis. I was extremely slow going up and I think we reached the summit a little after noon. While on the summit it started to rain pretty steadily and we donned our rain gear and headed off towards Andrews Glacier. Once on the glacier I decided to glissade the first little drop off and it was lots of fun - don't know why I became so stubborn but the second part of the glacier I side-stepped it down the entire way. I'm sure Ed and Ryan - both of whom had boot-skied down got a nice long break at the bottom waiting for me (thanks Ed for your patience) Once off the glacier I snapped a few pics of the tarn and then we headed on down towards the Loch - at this time it started raining on and off again the rest of the way down. It was a great day in the park and I can't thank Ed enough for taking me on such a great journey - next time around I won't be so darn stubborn and will glissade the second part of the glacier as well :)

Andrews Tarn (I didn't take any pics on the way down because I had stashed my camera in my bag when it started to rain and I was too scarred to take off my pack and get it out once I was on the glacier :) )

What a great day! A lot of sunshine with cool temps and some rain thrown in towards the end. A perfect mountain day.
I'm glad you got the experience you did on the glacier, it takes learning.

That looks like such fun. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

I have to say, I am very jealous of all you folks who get to go off on adventures with Ed!

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains? Yeah. Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

I love the new perspectives on well known places. Sounds like a wonderful day.
Something tells me you'll have your shot at sliding down the full length of Andrew's some day. No worries.

What a huge outing for your first full day. I'm scared to ask what Day 2 was like.

I like those rock formations and Timberline Falls. I didn't see them when I went because I was chasing Ali.

I think Ed was doing more than looking back.

Man, what a day!! Those are some really cool pics, Staci!! I love the tarn pics and the pic of Timberline Falls and Lake of Glass and....well, guess I love all of them really. :) That was quite an undertaking for a first-day hike....actually, for an any-day hike in my eyes! Way to go!!!
