There has been discussion going on in the Shoutbox regarding possible dates for the 2012 Stomp. Please post your thoughts here, since anything in the Shoutbox may rotate out of view before everyone gets a chance to read it.

It seems that most everyone appreciates a full moon during the the Stomp and we would stand a chance of some bitter cold temps during February's full moon. I was worried about the last Stomp as it was the 15th of Feb. and we did stand a chance of cold but lucked out. This year it is Tues. Feb. 7th and I'd imagine we'd do it the weekend before the full moon so the moon is up before everyone goes to bed. That would mean it Feb. 3rd and 4th which is pretty early in February.
The full moon i n March falls on a Thursday meaning the moon will rise at 8:00 pm on Friday and 9:15 on Sat. I'm hoping people can make it that late before retiring.

If we do make it out this year, I want Bill to be my STOMP date.

Yes, the March would be a good date for me. I assume the main STOMP would be on March 10th, then. Too bad, the full moon isn't a week later. My Spring Break starts then...

Yes Rhonda, I am thinking Thursday the 8th through the following weekend.

If one of the Stomp hikes is on a school day (eg. Friday March 9th), then I'd love to join everyone this year (I promise I won't whine too loudly).

We'll make March work for us. We do have a new supt. this year at school, so I'm hoping he will be cooperative with unpaid days, because I'll have to take 3 since TAs only get one personal day.
