It was just another ho hum day in Paradise  I bought a bumper sticker that says that at the Stanley Steemer museum. Is there ever a ho hum day in RMNP? I don't think so.

I was glad we were able to park at Glacier Gorge trailhead. It had been full every other day we had driven by it.

As we started down the trail it was obvious how much water was running. The light was streaming through the trees and it was a glorious morning.

I couldn't wait to see Alberta Falls. I figured it would be running very full. As we got there a painter was setting up his easel. I wanted him to still be there at the end of the day so I could see his painting.

I took one shot what that pesky tree in the picture.

And moved to get it without the tree. I should carry a tripod. It is sometimes hard to hold the camera still with those slow shutter speeds.

As we continued down the trail we saw a bit of activity around this bush (a serviceberry or viburnum, maybe?)

This one is for John. The Honey Tree has never looked better.

Mills lake was its beautiful serene self.

I always like to take a shot looking the other way, as well.

After resting at the lake for a while we decided we would go on to the Loch. My dad had been there, but many years ago. So, at the junction, we turned to go up. Periodically, on the trial you can hear water falling. I think some of these are casual falls that come from snowmelt. This is a rather ethereal one we saw.

We came to a small snowfield before arriving at the Loch. It was easily crossed, but there was evidence of folks who had post holed recently.

As we arrived at the Loch, I saw this great reflection on the smaller little portion of the lake.

Posted Image

The lake was beautiful.

Posted Image

I sat on a rock and enjoyed the scenery and serenity. I looked down and at my feet was this little tableau.

Posted Image

I took another picture or two of the lake.

Posted Image

I was not the only one enjoying the view and quiet. My mom found a shady spot to look around.

Posted Image

My parents were enjoying their day, I think.

Posted Image

Before leaving the lake, I watched this fisherman for a while. I had noticed quite a few fish in the lakes. He caught a couple while I watcher, but he turned his back to me each time to remove the hook.

As I said, it was just another ho hum day in paradise... and I loved every minute of it.

I'm so glad you shared your hike report to The Loch. We have been there twice and each time the wind was howling and cold, too. It was nice to see pictures of the lake on a beautiful calmer day. Your parents do an awesome job of hiking.
