We did not hike up Lily Ridge. I wasn't sure how far it was, and mostly wanted an easy stroll, so Joshua and I headed out to enjoy the lake. Dave stayed in the car and napped after his hike with Joshua that morning. Seems to be that hiking with Joshua is more strenuous than hiking with me. Go figure.

I was surprised at the number of very young ducklings this time of year. The ducklings around here are almost full grown, almost as big as their parents, but they still stay together as a group. These little guys at Lily Lake took off all by themselves and were all OVER the lake.

I'm assuming this is Estes Cone? It had originally been on my plan to do that day, but the rangers had recommended that Joshua stay under 10,000' that day... and we had already pushed it by doing the Ute Trail... even though he had no problems.

Lily Ridge has now replace Mt. Ida on my to-do list. (although Mt. Ida may be added again, just not on day 1).
